Information for Contributors

This award has zero administrative costs—all contributions are disbursed as prizes to the winners.

Maximize your impact by keeping your contributions local!

Please make contributions (c/o Brandon Curtis) using Square Cash. In the note, please indicate:

  1. your name;
  2. whether you want to contribute anonymously;
  3. whether you would like to participate in voting for a winner;
  4. contact information, preferably an email address.

You will receive a confirmation email and a transaction ID within two business days, and your contribution will appear on the spreadsheet above.

At this time, we have not been recognized as a nonprofit by the IRS and contributions are not tax-deductible. This is only likely to affect you if you itemize deductions.

The Future

In future years, we will use the previous years' portfolio of submissions to solicit matching and in-kind contributions from local businesses and Maker/DIY/open source organizations. We are also drafting ideas for a minigrant process to provide project seed funds, a mentorship component, and additional prizes for the best submissions in specific categories (music, math, earth science, &etc).

Do you have ideas, questions, or concerns? Would you like to help design, implement, and advertise this project?
